There was excitement around 10:30 a.m. in the town of Magetsham, Lohnsburg. A four-year-old girl was considered missing; she could suddenly no longer be found on the local farm. The family was very worried. The Lohnsburg, Riegerding, Kobernäßen and Kemating volunteer fire departments immediately came to help and took part in the search operation.
100 people deployed in search operation
“A total of 80 firefighters tried to find the little girl as quickly as possible. In addition, 20 private individuals were involved in the search – so there were a good 100 people on the way to help,” says the operations manager, Commander Christian Spindler from the FF Lohnsburg, in the Conversation with . Police search dogs, the FF Ried drone group and the emergency medical helicopter were also requested.
Fortunately, after 30 minutes of intensive searching, the all-clear was given: “The girl was found and is safe and sound. That is the most important thing and we are all very relieved,” says Spindler. The four-year-old was found frightened in the courtyard of the agricultural property. “She probably hid out of fear, also because of the many people and the excitement that there was.”
Such operations are always demanding, especially when it involves a missing child, said Spindler. That’s why a good debriefing is even more important.
