The Sudanese Mars Board of Directors decided to dismiss Lee Clark, coach of the team, after losing to Al-Ahly by three, and bid farewell Champions League Officially from the group stage.
According to the Qatari “BN Sports” network, the Sudanese board of directors decided to exempt coach Lee Clark and his technical staff from training the team, and assign Ibrahima to lead the team in the coming period.
Al-Merrikh suffered a heavy loss against Al-Ahly, 3-1, in the match that brought the two teams together, today, at Al-Salam Stadium, in the fifth round of the group stage of the African Champions League.
Al-Marikh’s loss against Al-Ahly ended the Sudanese team’s hopes of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the African Champions League after its balance froze on four points, while Al-Ahly rose to the seventh point in the group runner-up behind Sun Downs, the leader, with 10 points, with one round remaining in the group stage.
