Vacation camps, swimming pools, parks with water features, outdoor activities, summer schools and cultural initiatives are just some of the proposals offered by the Buenos Aires government so that residents and tourists can enjoy the City of Buernos Aires during the months of January and February.
One of the proposals presented this summer is Buenos Aires Playa 2023. In this edition, the Buenos Aires government scheduled recreational activities for people of all ages. They operate from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Parque de los Niños, in General Paz and Av. Cantilo (collector), and in the Parque de la Ciudad, located in Villa Soldati.
Another of the options that are presented in the City to cushion the hot days are the nine sports venues that have swimming pools. In this case, the pools will be open until next February 28 from Monday to Friday from 5 to 7 pm (after the colony). While on Saturdays and Sundays they will work from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Access is on a first-come, first-served basis, until all available space is exhausted, so there is no need for prior registration.
They are enabled in Parque Manuel Belgrano (ex KDT): Salguero 3450 and Costanera. Palermo; Sarmiento Park, Balbin 4750, Saavedra. In the Collegiate sports centers, Freire 234; Chacabuco, Eva Perón 1410, Parque Chacabuco; Par Avellaneda, Lacarra 1257, Pque Avellaneda; Pomar, Mercedes 1300, Floresta; Santojanni, Patron 6222, Liniers; Patricios, Pepirí 135, Pque. Patricios, and Pereyra, Vélez Sarsfield 1271, Barracas.
Summer camps, meanwhile, stand as one of the most sought-after alternatives by parents of children between 4 and 12 years of age. With seats sold out, more than 20,000 kids will enjoy the Buenos Aires Sports Colonies until next February 3, which will take place in the 14 neighborhood sports centers set up for this purpose.
On the other hand, during the summer school recess, boys, girls and adolescents of all educational levels participate in a new edition of the Summer School. There, students will be able to share, interact and continue learning in spaces that favor inclusion and group work. It covers more than one hundred schools and will also work until next February 3.
Another initiative is the Vamos las Plazas program. A cultural proposal that includes multiple shows in the green spaces of the 15 Buenos Aires communes. It will take place from Tuesday to Thursday, at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in January, and at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in February, until February 16.
