“Summer talks”: Meinl-Reisinger against new public prosecutor

At the start of this year’s “summer talks” on ORF, NEOS boss Beate Meinl-Reisinger spoke out in favor of strengthening the competence of existing authorities when it comes to hate online. The topic has “only just gained momentum”, she is against the idea of creating a new office for it immediately.

On the subject of inflation, she insisted above all on reducing non-wage labor costs. She called for “at least five percentage points down”. This would relieve the employer and the employee would receive more net from the gross, according to the NEOS boss.

Meinl-Reisinger against new elections

“A summer like never before – because of all the crises”: This is how moderator Tobias Pötzelsberger described the situation at the beginning of the first ORF “summer talk” 2022. Together with Julia Schmuck he received the NEOS boss at the beginning of the ORF center – outdoors , where the wind was strong at first.

The new moderation duo spanned the further thematic arc from neutrality to the meaning of life. The conversation was shaped by those major issues that are currently making the headlines – and last but not least by the role NEOS, in federal politics in the opposition, plays here.

Meinl-Reisinger does not want new elections: “In a phase that is already difficult”, one does not want to “actively contribute” to making the situation even more unstable, according to the NEOS boss. “We all have a responsibility to get out of the crisis together,” says Meinl-Reisinger.
