The South African Sun Downs team defeated its host Al-Ahly of Egypt 1-0 during the match that brought them together today, Saturday, in the third round of Group A competitions in the African Champions League.
Sun Downs owes the victory to Thapelo Morena, who scored the game’s only goal in the 86th minute.
Sun Downs raised his score to seven points at the top of the standings, and the balance of Al-Ahly, who has a postponed match with Sudan’s Al-Merreikh, stopped at one point in third place.
