Sunak: Britain is “shocked” by the bloodbath in Gaza and this terrible war must end

England – British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirmed yesterday, Saturday, that the United Kingdom is “shocked by the bloodbath” in Gaza and that “this terrible war must end.”

In a statement published 6 months after the start of the war, and after he reaffirmed the Kingdom’s continued defense of Israel’s right to defeat the threat of Hamas and defend its security, Sunak said, “The entire United Kingdom is shocked by the bloodbath, and we are horrified by the killing of the brave British heroes who transported… Food for the needy in Gaza,” referring to the killing of 7 aid workers, including three Britons, in an Israeli drone raid after they supervised the unloading of an aid shipment transported by a ship from Cyprus.

Sunak added, “This terrible war must end… the hostages must be released… and aid must flow.”

The British Prime Minister stressed that “the children of Gaza need an immediate humanitarian truce that leads to a long-term, sustainable ceasefire,” considering that this is “the fastest way to extract hostages and deliver aid.”

He stated in his statement, “For the benefit of Israelis and Palestinians, who all deserve to live in peace, dignity and security, this is what we will continue to work to achieve.”

The British government called on Friday for “maximum transparency” and a “fully independent review” of the killing of the seven aid workers in the Gaza Strip.

Their killing increased pressure on the UK government to suspend arms export licenses to Israel.

According to arms control groups, London has approved arms sales worth more than £487 million ($614 million) to Israel since 2015.
