Recognizing Dedication Across Gyeonggi Province
The ceremony, jointly hosted by the Sungkyunkwan Yudo-hoe Gyeonggi Provincial Headquarters and the Gyeonggi Provincial Headquarters of the pan-national Etiquette Living Practice Movement Headquarters, sought to spotlight community members who embody traditional filial values. Among the 31 recipients of filial son, filial daughter, and filial wife awards was Yu Byeong-ok (65) of Bogae-myeon, who received the Sungkyunkwan President’s Commendation.
Nominated by the Anseong Hyanggyo, Yu was recognized for her dedicated caregiving under challenging economic conditions for her 100-year-old mother-in-law. The honors included commendations issued under the names of the Sungkyunkwan President, the President of the Sungkyunkwan Yudo-hoe Headquarters, and the Gyeonggi Provincial Governor.
