Inglewood, California — Super Bowl LVI will take place. as planned, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, on Sunday, February 13.
The NFL has no plans to move the Super Bowl to Dallas Cowboys Stadium, or anywhere else despite the recent spike in COVID-19 cases and accompanying health precautions in California, multiple officials confirmed. Thursday at SoFi Stadium during a press event held to mark one. month before the 56th edition of the Super Bowl on February 13.
“All of our plans for Super Bowl week will remain in place,” said Katie Keenan, NFL’s senior director of events operations.
“We are working together with everyone here, with the Los Angeles County Health Department, to make sure that all of our events are held safely.”
SoFi Stadium is home to the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers.
Kevin Demoff, the Rams’ chief operating officer, noted that SoFi has implemented extensive coronavirus security protocols for the 17 regular-season games played at the stadium by the Rams and Chargers.
Those precautions remain in effect Monday night for the first playoff game in stadium history when the Rams host the Arizona Cardinals.
“We have had an incredible and safe environment throughout the year. We are fortunate that this is an outdoor facility where air enters. We believe this building is very safe. The people who come to our games have learned to be safe and we are doing everything we can to be safe, ”Demoff said.
