Around 4% of Polish farmers have applied for liquidity support. The situation of Polish farmers was also affected by the Ukraine war.

According to agropolska, Minister of Agriculture Robert Telus provided this information regarding the amount of the subsidy at the beginning of August 2023 at a meeting with farmers from the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
According to the Polish Central Statistical Office, there were around 1.4 million farms in Poland in 2020. 58,000 farmers correspond to a share of regarding 4.2%.
According to the Minister of Agriculture, this is a subsidization of loans to maintain the liquidity of farms. The government is thus reacting to the upheavals on the agricultural product and supply markets as a result of the Russian war of aggression once morest Ukraine.
“We will never leave the farmers alone,” assured the Minister of Agriculture. He pointed out that a record amount of aid had been made available, amounting to more than 15 billion zlotys (regarding 728 million francs).
According to the minister, the reduced loans can currently be used for 36, 48 or 60 months, depending on the size of the company. However, he expects the EU Commission to agree that interest rate subsidies might be granted for all liquidity loans for up to 60 months, regardless of the size of the company, Telus explained.
