Just before embarking on the championship, the Molenbeek club will have to deal with a new coach. The president of the Belgian club and OL, John Textor has in any case dismissed Vincent Euvrard, coach of the club since 2020.
“Just as we often say that we recruit players whose profile matches our vision of success, it is important that we approach the direction of the team in the same way”, justified Mr. Textor in a press release. This dismissal, which comes as the Pro League championship resumes next weekend, is a surprise insofar as Vincent Euvrard had allowed the Brussels club to find the Belgian elite last spring.
Euvrard was warmly congratulated by John Textor on Sunday after the success of the Brussels club in a friendly match against Lyon (1-0). According to local media, the Brazilian Claudio Caçapa will replace him. Caçapa, formerly assistant to OL, is currently interim coach at Botafogo in Brazil, another club in the “Textor galaxy”.
