Despite no longer receiving support from Samsung, the Galaxy Note 9 is receiving a security update. The news took many people by surprise on Tuesday morning.
According to reports from several users, the update is available in the UK, Ireland and some other European countries, and the changelog makes it clear that the smartphone receives the February package.
It carries firmware version N960FXXSAFWB3 and there is no justification for Samsung to release this update. In any case, the company usually releases random updates whenever it discovers a very relevant security flaw in Android.
For now, the update is rolling out slowly and gradually through batches. Therefore, we emphasize that it may take a little longer for the update to reach the Galaxy Note 9 here in Brazil.

Samsung updates Galaxy Note 9 with June 2022 security patch in Brazil
In recent days, Samsung has released the June 2022 security package to the Galaxy Note 9 in the Brazilian version – equipped with the Snapdragon 845 chip. top of the line cell phone 2018.
The update has a size of 215.86 MB and changes the software version to N9600ZHU9FVH2, while the package level has moved to June 1st of this year. Check it out in the screenshots below:
As it has already left the period of major updates on Samsung’s calendar, the Galaxy Note 9 only had the traditional system crash fixes and performance improvements with this installation.
It is worth remembering that the smartphone was launched in 2018 with native Android 8.1 Oreo. The last version of the “little robot” made available for the model was Android 10, in 2020. This device was not contemplated with the recent Korean longevity expansions.

The latest firmware is released via OTA, with an automatic notification prompt. However, if you still haven’t received the message, you can check it manually, using the following path: Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
