We are living in breezes from the blessed Eid Al-Adha and the extra expense that this necessitates, in addition to the many constraints that beset the pockets of citizens at a time of high prices, starting with the start of the school year, the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr…

This year’s Eid Al-Adha, with a special flavor, comes against the backdrop of the repercussions of stifling economic conditions governed by several factors, including those related to the remnants of the Corona virus, and international developments, not to mention changes climatic conditions and years of drought. With a torrent of daily expenses that intersect with his daily life on the one hand, and with the subsistence of his sheep and cattle on the other..

Through the media article, we have tried to shed light on the reality of the simple farmer and how he was able to resist the worst of crises and shocks.

Here in the capital of Chaouia, and exactly in the area of Ouled Saïd, which has experienced, incidentally, during the last two days, very heavy rains which have greatly contributed to the revival of the water bed and to the feeding of some fallow crops, although they were few, but its “rains” effect was the harvesting process and subsequent operations related to the collection of haystacks. It was effective, because these rains destroyed the aligned and uncovered cubes of hay, and even affected the pastoral areas of the remains of the harvest…

Noureddine, a farmer in the area, said: “This winter, Praise be to God, a part that feeds the waterbed, but it has damaged the crops somewhat, as the hay has become rotten and the sheep and cattle are not fed, so they eat it. The farmer lived a full year with the high cost of fodder… spending between 2400 and 2500 dirhams… which means that this year’s holidays will be a bit expensive for the employees. The market went up slightly compared to last year, with a difference of nearly 1,000 dirhams.

And at every party, and unfortunately, there is a lot of talk about the phenomenon of speculators. Sometimes they practice extortion and dangerous haggling, sometimes they strongly influence the prices of sacrificed animals in a consistent way, they blackmail exhibitors by forcing them to sell their exhibits under pain of being put up for auction.

This year’s Eid Al-Adha obliges the competent authorities to intensify surveillance and inspection patrols, especially in sales areas, to ensure the quality of feed provided to livestock and sacrificial animals in order to guarantee the health safety of the product and to attack the speculators” who create the difference and contribute to the instability of the prices on the national markets.
