The four surviving victims, who are also civil parties, were heard as witnesses. The manager of the establishment recounted how Omar Benchamsy entered the café with a large kitchen knife and stabbed the customers. “I was playing darts. I went to get my darts from the target and when I turned around, he was attacking Vincent Schumacher,” she says, explaining that she tried to intervene and was also injured while she was on the ground. “I asked him why he was doing this to us. I also told him that I had children,” remembers the manager. Subsequently, she managed to grab the knife by the blade, before managing to flee with her mother and another customer. “I lost my companion, Ralph Duveau. My mother died suddenly and I no longer have coffee… This scene has been running through our heads for more than two years. How could he have forgotten? I could never forgive him for what he did to us.”

Another victim, injured in the buttock, added that when he returned to the café armed with a knife, the attacker indicated “that he was going to kill us all”. “He destroyed my life and that of my children. He took away my best friend of over 40 years. I will never forgive him. »
