SV Ried brings goalkeeper Felix Wimmer from Union Gurten

“SV Ried is on Gurten’s goalkeeper Felix Wimmer,” was the headline of the OÖN on April 26th. Now, two weeks later, the transfer is finalized. Felix Wimmer (25) signed a contract until 2026 with the second division club, whose goal is to return to the Bundesliga next season. “Felix Wimmer is the best goalkeeper in the region and a true Innviertel native. He was therefore our clear dream solution as a replacement for Jonas Wendlinger,” says Wolfgang Fiala, Sports Director of SV Guntamatic Ried. As reported, Wendlinger is leaving the club in the summer. “Thanks to his attitude and good work in Gurten, Wimmer has developed into an absolute top performer. He has a great personality,” says Fiala.

“By moving to SV Guntamatic Ried, my childhood dream of becoming a professional footballer is coming true. I played in the academy and with the amateurs in Ried from the age of eleven to 17. It’s extremely nice that I can make this dream come true at my youth club. “I want to do my best to help us achieve our big goal of promotion to the top division next season,” says Wimmer, who has been playing for Union Gurten since 2017.
