The Swedes Henrik von Eckermann and Peder Fredricson hit hard with a double in the opening event of the World Cup final, Wednesday in Riyadh (KSA). This hunting test (without a dam) proved to be very selective. Among the Swiss, Steve Guerdat was able to play placed, while Martin Fuchs had a bad evening.
Von Eckermann, world number 1 and defending champion, won without making an error in 66.28 seconds, with his sparkling King Edward. He beat his compatriot (67.40) and the German Hans-Dieter Dreher (68.49).
Guerdat, who rides Is-Minka and who dreams of becoming the first rider to win this final four times, ranked 9th (72.39). The Jura native made just one mistake and can still claim to be on the podium. Fuchs, twice penalized, took 23rd place (78.98) and already finds himself behind.
