Promotion favorite Kloten is struggling at the start of the playoff quarter-finals in the Swiss League, but still manages to win against the GCK Lions late in the game.
Despite 42:19 shots on target and a first 1:0 lead, Kloten is 1:2 behind in the small Zurich derby eleven minutes before the end. Then Niki Altorfer in the power play, Fabian Ganz and top scorer Eric Faille turned the tide within two minutes. In the end it was 6:3, as befits the situation.
Kloten’s presumably toughest opponent for promotion also needs some warm-up time. Olten prevails against Sierre 8:2. However, the decision was only made thanks to three goals within almost nine minutes from 3:2 to 6:2 at the beginning of the final third. Top scorer Garry Nunn boasts a hat trick.
