Swordship takes place in an unforgiving post-apocalyptic world where the consequences of global warming have forced the vast majority of humanity to take refuge in three gigantic underwater cities. Megacities trade millions of containers loaded with goods every day, while those on the outside scrape what they can to survive. You play as one of the few locals willing to steal these precious containers to deliver vital supplies to those who have been banished outside.
Players have the freedom to choose between multiple saber variants, each with a unique active power, allowing them to experiment with various approaches to overcoming difficult and dangerous levels. Players can also experiment with their playstyle by choosing to risk it all and bank stolen containers to massively boost their score or play it safe to get passive upgrades and extra ships that match their unique style. .
Having an aerodynamic and super-fast boat, devoid of heavy and cumbersome weapons, is a vital asset for a smuggler who tries to get his stolen goods from one place to another as quickly as possible, but leaves you vulnerable to attacks. This is why only the most skilled pilots can hope to survive. Using your movement speed, turning enemy attacks against them, and mastering the various weather conditions offered by procedurally generated levels is the only way to make it out alive.
