Sympathy for Red Bull F1 Sergio Perez and Nikita Mazepin "Athletes are not responsible"[F1-Gate .com]

Red Bull Racing’s Sergio Perez believes it is unfair for the Sports Federation to exclude Russian athletes from the competition.

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the FIA (International Automobile Federation) canceled the contract to hold the F1 Russian Grand Prix. Motorsport UK is also putting more pressure on athletes in other sports worlds, including banning Russian and Ukrainian athletes from competitions.

The Haas F1 Team may also terminate contracts with sponsor Russian Uralkali and Russian driver Nikita Mazepin.

Sergio Perez says athletes are not responsible and can’t do anything about President Vladimir Putin’s decision.

“Russian athletes are rewarded in certain ways,” Sergio Perez told Marca.

“I don’t agree with that, because I don’t think sportsmen are responsible for what his president did.”
