SYNAPS pleads for recruitment in private schools –

The Secretary General of the National Union of Health Personnel (SYNAPS), Serghes Mikala Moundanga, in a statement called on the President of the Transition, President of the Republic, Head of State, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, to order his government the launch of massive recruitment of health professionals from private schools to alleviate the situation of chronic staff shortages in hospitals across Gabon.

“We ask the CTRI to look into the issue in order to launch the recruitment of young compatriots who have received training in the field of health to support the operation of our dispensaries, health centers, departmental hospitals… and to truly offer access to care for all”, pleaded Mr. Mikala Moundanga.

For SYNAPS, the lack of health personnel in hospitals creates a “tense flow of stress in the work teams” which are very small with schedules that do not fit the type of employment. And private higher education establishments would provide better training in the field, contrary to popular belief, which could benefit the majority.

“Many compatriots are trained there at stratified levels and moreover they remain pillars of care in our various clinics where many senior executives of the Republic attend, thus avoiding the sarcasm of public structures,” he noted.

In its plea, SYNAPS wants the government to increase the salaries of non-permanent workforce agents (MONP), by increasing their housing bonus which is from 18,000 FCFA to 100,000 FCFA and to make increases in birthday worth 5000 FCFA per year on their earnings.

In the name of fairness for State agents working at border posts, SYNAPS requests that a performance bonus be also awarded to Health and National Education personnel like the one that was allocated to the dense forces posted at the border during the Council of Ministers of January 22, 2024.

During a statement, the leader of SYNAPSrebelled against “ GINFOCIS software » property of a Cameroonian subject installed at the Libreville University Hospital Center (CHUL) and the Melen Estuaire Regional Hospital Center to manage health procedures, in place of the AVO software, designed by a Gabonese who would be more efficient and less expensive than the first mentioned.

SYNAPS, “demands that the word of the Head of State be respected and that the situation of the AVO software returns to normal both at the University Hospital Center of Libreville and at the Regional Hospital Center of the Melen Estuary. SYNAPS demands the pure and simple removal of the GINFOCIS software from our public structures. May it be granted to AVO, in view of the effectiveness of its product, the management of the Institute of Infectiology of Owendo, and many other structures in synergy with e-GabonSIS”.
