SYRIZA for Tempi: The government cannot continue the cover-up and Karamanlis must be brought to justice – 2024-03-24 02:45:55

“After a year, New Democracy seems to realize that it cannot hide the enormous responsibilities of Kostas Ah. Karamanlis for the crime of Tempe”, reports SYRIZA.

In its announcement about Tempi, SYRIZA claims that Maximos has now realized that it cannot continue to hide behind Mr. Greenberg’s manufactured “fairy tales” about human error and “chronic pathologies”.

Regarding Kostas Ah. Karamanlis, Koumoundourou refers to the statements made earlier by the Minister of Justice, George Floridis, that he would not even stand in the elections if he were in Mr. Karamanlis’ position, as well as the distances that the ND MPs have taken from the former Minister of Transport, Giorgos Stamatis, Lefteris Ktistakis and Filippos Fortomas, who emphasized that in his position they would have already requested the lifting of their immunity in order to be checked by the Justice.

The announcement of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance for Tempi:

After a year, New Democracy seems to realize that it cannot hide the enormous responsibilities of Kostas Ah. Karamanlis for the crime of Tempe.

The “emptying” was initiated by the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, who spoke of “individual choice and individual right” regarding the lifting of Article 86 for the former minister, while also noting that “no one is a priori guilty or a priori innocent”.

Afterwards, the Minister of Justice, Giorgos Floridis said that he would not even participate in the elections if he were in the position of Mr. Karamanlis, while the members of the government, Giorgos Stamatis, Lefteris Ktistakis and Filippos Fortomas, distanced themselves from the deputy of Serres, stressing that in the position they would have already requested the lifting of their immunity to be checked by the Justice.

Maximou has now realized that it cannot continue to hide behind Mr. Greenberg’s manufactured “fairy tales” about human error and “chronic pathologies”, as he pretentiously repeated in the ruling of the government majority in the inquiry.

The New Democracy government understands that it cannot continue the “crime” of cover-up, without consequences.

Mr. Karamanlis must be brought to justice. This does not mean that the responsibilities weighing on the Maximos Palace for the wretched cover-up operation will be statute-barred.

It’s undeniable now.

We are faced with two crimes. With the tragedy of 57 dead in Tempe and with the continuous effort by the government to cover up the real responsibilities and the culprits.

If for the first crime they must be investigated, in addition to the political and criminal ramifications, regarding the actions of K. Ah. Karamanlis and the then Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, G. Karagiannis, the second one has another dimension. It is collective, in terms of the ND government’s responsibilities and the size of its officials involved, but it has a “beginning, middle and end”. Starting with Mr. Mitsotakis himself. This includes and must be investigated, the role and responsibilities of the former deputy minister of the Prime Minister, Chr. Triandopoulos, for the “falsification” of the truth, as well as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Climate Change and Civil Protection, V. Papageorgiou.
