He added, “Mustafa Khan was the first to establish, with a number of Karbalai personalities, notables and influential people, the Iraqi Dates Association to market dates and export them outside the country, in addition to establishing a dispensary in the (Abu Asi) area in the fifties of the last century and a mosque that opened in the same place in 1968.”
For his part, Abbas Fadel Qanbar, one of the intellectuals of Holy Karbala and those interested in its heritage, said: “The Palace of Mustafa Khan is one of the important and captivating holy landmarks of Karbala.
Qanbar pointed out, “The people of Holy Karbala have repeatedly demanded that this palace be converted into a cultural building that brings together the Karbala cultural elites within its walls, although its ownership belongs to the heirs of Mustafa Khan.”
