Taiba Investments Reports 9-Month 2026 Financial Results

Taiba Investments Company reported a net profit of 230.9 million riyals for the first nine months of 2026, a decline from the 298.8 million riyals recorded during the same period in 2025, according to Argaam. The firm, which maintains a diverse portfolio spanning hotel operations, property management, and real estate development, attributed the year-over-year dip to specific operational shifts and the absence of one-time accounting adjustments that bolstered the previous year’s figures.

Operating Costs and Asset Adjustments Affect Nine-Month Performance

The company’s financial results for the nine-month period were shaped by the integration of new properties into its portfolio. Taiba cited increased operating expenses and depreciation charges linked to these new assets as primary drivers for the profit contraction. The 2025 results also benefited from the reversal of a provision related to a legal dispute with a former operator, as well as the reversal of an impairment provision on certain fixed assets. Neither of these non-recurring gains was repeated in the current fiscal year.

Despite the bottom-line pressure, top-line growth remained positive. Revenues for the nine-month period rose by 5.2% to 1,056 million riyals, compared to 1,004.10 million riyals in the same period of 2025.

When excluding the impact of the one-time provision reversals seen in 2025, the company noted that its net profit would have improved by 18.10 million riyals, representing an 8.5% increase over the prior year’s comparable period.

Third-Quarter Financial Contraction

The third quarter of 2026 saw net income reach 33.3 million riyals, down from 60.39 million riyals in the third quarter of 2025. This 44.9% decline mirrored the trends observed over the nine-month period, specifically the burden of depreciation and operating costs from new hotel additions and the lack of previous asset impairment reversals.

Quarter-over-quarter, the drop was even more pronounced. Compared to the second quarter of 2026, net income fell by 54.3%. The company pointed to a decline in hotel revenue in Riyadh, citing lower occupancy rates linked to regional geopolitical conditions and the inherent seasonality of the hospitality sector. Revenue for the third quarter stood at 293.60 million riyals, a 6.3% increase over the 276.27 million riyals reported in the third quarter of 2025, but a 22.1% decrease from the 376.84 million riyals reported in the second quarter of 2026.

Shareholder Equity and Comprehensive Income Gains

While operating profits faced headwinds, the company’s balance sheet showed growth in equity. Shareholders’ equity, excluding minority interests, reached 7,299.2 million riyals by the end of the period, up from 6,872.8 million riyals at the end of the same period last year.

The company recorded a profit in other comprehensive income of 387.20 million riyals, a sharp turnaround from the 78.30 million riyal loss reported in the same period of 2025. This shift was largely attributed to an increase in the fair value of financial derivatives used for hedging, alongside a rise in the market value of the company’s equity investments in other firms held at fair value through other comprehensive income.

The company’s financial statements for the period were issued with an unmodified auditor’s opinion. To maintain consistency with the current reporting structure, Taiba indicated that certain comparative figures from previous periods were reclassified.
