Gruppo TecnoFerrari has officially migrated its North American base from Tennessee to Chicago, Illinois, marking a strategic shift to place the company at the heart of the Midwest’s industrial logistics network. The move, finalized with an inauguration event on October 17, aligns the company’s operations with the timing of the major Pack Expo Chicago trade show.
The new facility, positioned in the immediate vicinity of O’Hare International Airport, is designed to serve as more than just a satellite office. By integrating executive and commercial workspaces with a substantial spare parts warehouse, the company aims to be closer to its clients and to strengthen its commercial and service activities across the continent.
Chicago as the Gateway to North American Logistics
For TecnoFerrari, the relocation is less about moving across state lines and more about proximity to the pulse of the market. Mattia Davoli, CEO of TF USA and Customer Service Manager, describes the city as both a critical Midwest hub and a logistical launchpad for the wider U.S. and Canadian markets. Chicago represents a hub of primary importance for the entire Midwest, but also the starting point to reach our clients in the USA and Canada with ease, thanks to the position and logistics that this city offers,
Davoli stated. It is the perfect connection between Italy and America.
The choice of Illinois also addresses a specific need for localized talent. Beyond the logistical advantages of O’Hare, the company is tapping into a regional labor pool with the specialized training required to manage complex automation systems. This human capital, working in tandem with the core team at the company’s headquarters in Fiorano Modenese, Italy, is expected to accelerate the development of new business opportunities in the region.

Scaling Automated Intralogistics for Industrial Clients
The core of TecnoFerrari’s North American growth strategy lies in shifting from simple machinery supply to comprehensive intralogistics solutions. Matteo Grigolo, the company’s Branches Director and Sales Area Manager, notes that local manufacturers are no longer just looking for individual units; they are seeking integrated, automated systems that can be replicated across multiple plant locations to ensure consistent efficiency.
In the United States, the focus of TecnoFerrari is intralogistics, as local companies seek automated solutions for their plants that guarantee efficiency and can be replicated across multiple facilities,
Grigolo added. The ability to provide this type of integrated solution represents one of the main factors of our growth in the North American market.
This approach has allowed the firm to diversify its client base significantly. While the ceramic industry remains a historical cornerstone for the Italian manufacturer, the North American branch now operates across a broad spectrum of sectors, including Paper & Tissue, Food & Dairy, Automotive, and Pharmaceutical production.
Industrial Partners Attend Event to Support Local Presence
The event drew not only the local TF USA staff but also key industrial partners and representatives from major trade associations, including Acimac and Ucima.
With many of their major clients already maintaining headquarters or significant regional offices within Illinois, the move reinforces the company’s commitment to providing on-the-ground support.
How do you see the role of regional hubs like Chicago evolving as international manufacturers pivot toward more localized, integrated service models in the United States?
