Taiwan adds 68,151 new confirmed cases of new crown, 152 new deaths
Xinhua News Agency, Taipei, June 4. The Taiwan Epidemic Command Center announced on the 4th that there were 68,151 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia, including 68,118 local cases and 33 imported cases. Among the confirmed cases, 152 new deaths were added.
The command center stated that the new local cases were 32,043 males, 36,053 females, and 22 under investigation, aged between under 5 years old and over 90 years old.
The command center said that the new deaths that day were 87 males and 65 females, including a boy under 5 years old. There were 496 new cases of moderate and severe cases on the same day.
Coinciding with the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the “plateau period” of the epidemic has an impact on tourism across Taiwan. It is reported that the occupancy rate of hotels in Yilan and Hualien in the north is only 30% to 50%, and the occupancy rate of hotels in Kenting and Xiaoliuqiu in the south has dropped to 50%.
According to statistics, as of now, a total of 2,342,794 cases of new coronary pneumonia have been diagnosed in Taiwan, including 2,329,609 local cases.
