[アンカラ 12日 ロイター] – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that he would submit a ratification proposal to the Turkish parliament after it reopened in October on Sweden’s membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He also said he expected Sweden to take some action against terrorism in return for joining NATO.

At a press conference in Vilnius, Lithuania, where the NATO summit was being held, Erdogan said Sweden would provide Turkey with a roadmap on the steps to be taken before the instrument of ratification was submitted to parliament. He later said he would approve.

The Turkish parliament will close this weekend and resume in October.

Erdoğan on Thursday agreed to proceed with the ratification process for Sweden’s entry into NATO. He just didn’t give a date for Turkey’s ratification.
