Takaaki Nakagami: Injured his right hand / MotoGP

After colliding with Marc Márquez on the first lap of the Aragon GP, LCR Honda’s Takaaki Nakagami is on his way to Barcelona to have two injured fingers checked.

Sunday started well for Takaaki Nakagami with the best time in warm-up, but his race ended on the first lap with a sensational and frightening accident: exiting Turn 7, the LCR driver collided with fellow Audi driver Marc Márquez, who struggled with a locked rear wheel following a previous collision with Fabio Quartararo.

“Taka” fell and continued to slide on the road, only with a lot of luck and responsiveness none of the following MotoGP riders hit him. However, the 30-year-old Japanese injured his right hand.

“My start was good, but then I had an accident on the first lap: I made contact with Marc and I had a bad crash. That’s why I’m very disappointed, »Nakagami said about his team. “I’m going to Barcelona now to have the wound on the fourth and fifth fingers of my right hand checked. I’ll keep everyone posted,” he announced.

With just a week to go before his home GP at Motegi, Taka is naturally looking ahead. “I really appreciate the support from the fans. I will try my best to recover and hopefully compete in my home GP in Japan.”
