Take Two Interactive Software provided the Polish company People Can Fly Group with a letter of intent to terminate the agreement to finance and publish the game, codenamed Project Dagger, but this did not change the studio’s plans, which currently intend to continue funding the project themselves.

The studio continues to produce Project Dagger on a self-publishing basis with its own funds, while not ruling out the possibility of continuing this production using debt financing, as well as further development of Project Dagger through cooperation with a new publisher.

The draft termination agreement submitted by Take-Two Interactive Software contains no provisions indicating the publisher’s intention to exercise its option to purchase the intellectual property rights in products produced under the agreement.

The PCF Group indicates that in the first half of 2022, the group completed all work assigned by the publisher under the contract performance agreement and received all contractual remuneration under it.

People Can Fly CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski wrote the following:

I’m guessing we’re parting ways as a partnership, and I see no reason why we shouldn’t return to Take-Two Interactive on another project in the future. We really believe in Project Dagger and want to continue working on it as part of our self-publishing. The game is still in pre-production and our team is currently focused on finalizing the combat and game systems and moving from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5

He also reaffirmed the group’s updated strategy to launch games released by the group as part of a working model with a publisher or independently starting in 2024 annually.
