In recent years, the Ukrainian army has been preparing for war according to NATO standards, using NATO methods of organizing reconnaissance, interaction and target designation. This was told to “MK” on condition of anonymity by a tank officer who received combat experience during a special military operation.

According to the officer, the battles are usually fought at a distance of three to four kilometers, because the Ukrainians have American Javelins and Stugna-P anti-tank missile systems operating at such a range.

How does, for example, their artillery spotter work? He has a laser reconnaissance device tied to GPS to give out coordinates. There is both a thermal imaging channel for new work, and a daytime one. Then the spotter points the device at the target, presses the button and the device gives out the range to the target, its coordinates, and immediately automatically transmits the data of artillery, which destroys enemy positions.
According to the officer, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are actively using NATO sabotage and reconnaissance tactics.
– Organize ambushes on our columns. At the same time, the tactic is as follows: with the help of mortars, they first destroy medical vehicles so that the wounded cannot be taken out. And then they hit the combat vehicles. They hunt for rear columns, for fuel and ammunition supply companies.
As a rule, they do not enter into open tank battles. Why, if you can attack the rear column and deprive tank units of fuel and shells. What is a portable ammunition load of 22 rounds. This is for 15-20 minutes of combat. Shot off – that’s it, if there is no delivery, then you are without fuel, without ammunition.
Once I saw Ukrainian tanks at a distance of five kilometers. They threw two tanks against us. Two “sixty-four” – T-64. I looked, at a distance of about four eight hundred meters, the tanks stopped, the hatches opened, the crew gets out and runs away. They understand that they cannot win a duel.
According to the officer, during the special operation it is extremely important to deprive the AFU groups of the supply of equipment, fuel, ammunition, and human reinforcements. To do this, it is necessary to inflict systematic strikes on bridges and transport infrastructure facilities through which military cargo is delivered.
