Tanwei Fangcai Hospital is applying for the construction of 36 mansions

The Tanwei Fangcai Hospital was completed on March 24. It turned out that the developer had already applied for the construction of 36 mansions on the Tanwei Fangcai Hospital and the adjacent land as early as April 21. The relevant urban planning consultation will end on May 27 (application number: Y/YL-NSW/8 and Y/YL-NSW/9).

The two sites are now in the wetland buffer zone, and the west is the wetland in the Nam Sang Wai area. One of the applicant’s sites was approved to build a low-density Outlet shopping mall with conditions in 2017; the other site is mainly the factory of Guanzhen Sauce Garden at present.

At present, there are no details about the North New Territories Wetland Conservation Park. Even Fung Lok Wai and Nam Sang Wai, which were originally zoned as Wetland Conservation Parks, have been approved successively, and developers have applied for development in the wetland buffer zone. Environmental Sense (this Council) objected to these two planning applications, believing that the area needs to be maintained for low-density use, and worried that this “development first, not conservation” situation would encourage more damage to wetlands, which would ultimately lead to future damage. The migration of migratory birds in the Gulf wetlands and even the whole of southern China has brought irreversible impacts.

In the past, developers borrowed land such as “borrowing arrows from straw boats”. I believe that planning applications related to makeshift hospitals or temporary housing sites will come one after another. Please continue to pay attention to my Facebook and bury IG~
