The scaffolding of the Datan Power Plant in Guanyin District, Taoyuan City collapsed this afternoon. The Fire Department of the Taoyuan City Government was reported to the scene and rescued 2 trapped people. A total of 6 people were injured in the accident and have been treated for medical treatment. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the construction unit. The fire department pointed out that it received a report from the public at 5:25 p.m., alleging that a scaffolding collapsed unexpectedly at the Tai Tam Power Plant in Guanyin District. Immediately after being reported, personnel were dispatched to assist in the rescue. When the firefighters arrived, they found that the scaffolding for the construction of the Taitan Power Plant had collapsed, causing 6 injuries, 2 of which were trapped. The firefighters immediately used destruction equipment to help them escape.
The fire department said that of the 6 injured people, 3 of them had minor injuries and sought medical treatment on their own. In addition, a 50-year-old man surnamed Chen had multiple lacerations on the back of his head and neck and was clearly conscious; a 46-year-old man, Cai, suffered lacerations to his head and hands. In addition, the 41-year-old Zhang Nan’s palm and both thighs were suspected to be fractured, and they were all sent to the hospital for treatment.
According to our understanding, Taipower is carrying out the unit project of the Datan Power Plant in Guanyin District. It is suspected that the scaffolding on the outer wall of Unit 7 suddenly collapsed, causing 6 workers to be injured. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the construction unit.
