Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova stated Sport-Express that the 2020 European champion Alena Kostornaya should be ashamed of her words about training with Eteri Tutberidze.
Kostornaya in an interview “RIA Novosti” called Tutberidze’s work “obtaining results by any means, because the conveyor: this one broke – the next one is on.”
“Kostornaya would have had a conscience. I would be ashamed of my words. Everyone recognized her because Eteri had her, ”said Tarasova.

Kostornaya left the Tutberidze group twice – before the 2020/21 season, she moved to Evgeni Plushenko, but returned a year later, and in the spring of 2022 she began to study in the group of Elena Buyanova, but eventually took up pair skating.
Kostornaya is the European champion and the winner of the Grand Prix final in the 2019/20 season.
