With the bomb attack on Vladlen Tatarsky in St. Petersburg on Sunday evening, Russia lost one of its most prominent propagandists in the war against Ukraine. Tatarsky belonged to the influential group of so-called “voyenkory” or military bloggers, whose posts and comments on what was happening at the front significantly shaped the Russian public’s image of the war.
