Tax on the rich: “Businessmen are taxed less than their cleaning lady”

Yes, says economist Etienne de Callataÿ. “It’s an idea that makes sense in view of the evolution of the economic situation. Many households are in difficulty and on the other side, there are extremely high incomes which are little taxed. This proposal makes sense in terms of efficiency and equity between citizens. There are businessmen who are taxed less than their cleaning lady, it is still questionable.”.
