Tax reform and new EU rules: what changes in customs

From telematization to the streamlining of procedures (even with the entry of new figures, in addition to freight forwarders) to the various types of control and cross-examination, up to sanctions. And, on the horizon, the Single European Authority is also looming to give uniform application to the future reformed Union Customs Code. Many aspects of customs rules are changing. For now, the greatest impact for Italian operators appears to be that of the draft decree implementing the tax delegation on the revision of the national customs system, preliminarily approved by the Council of Ministers on 26 March and on which the opinions of the commissions are now awaited parliamentarians.

Along with confirmations, such as the one for the confiscation of goods in the case of smuggling, there are innovations such as the early cross-examination in the case of online checks (one of the most important innovations envisaged on the verification front), with the possibility for interested parties to request a repetition of the laboratory analyzes carried out on the goods by the Customs agency.
