Thiruvananthapuram: Lessons omitted by the central government will be taught in Kerala. Gandhi’s assassination, Mughal history, Gujarat riots and NCERT. Excluded lessons will be taught in Kerala.
Strong criticism has come from various states regarding NCERT’s textbook reform. Many states have issued parallel textbooks as an alternative. The Curriculum Committee has now decided that the textbook will be released in Kerala as well. It is reported that the book will be printed soon.
Gandhi assassination, RSS Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Education Minister V. Shivankutty and others came forward with ad responses. NCERT should be a book covering these subjects. The Education Department had already announced that the book should be released in the state, or the state would release the book in parallel. The decision is now in this regard.
