Be careful if you live in the east of France. Meteo France placed ten departments on orange alert for the risk of thunderstorms on Thursday 30 June. These are Ain, Doubs, Isère, Jura, Loire, Haute-Loire, Haut-Rhin, Rhône, Saône-et-Loire and the Territory of Belfort .

Thunderstorms “virulent” will develop at the beginning of the afternoon on the Haute Loire, before going up towards the south of Alsace “by touching all the departments in orange vigilance”writes Météo France in its bulletin.

These storms could be violent accompanied by hail and strong gusts of wind, but especially by very strong intensities of precipitation. Order intensities of 30 to 40 mm/h are possible. Thunderstorm activity will subside “gradually by the east in the evening”.
