Tension renewed inside Ain al-Hilweh camp at midnight tonight after gunmen opened heavy fire in the Hittin neighborhood.

This comes after a cautious calm witnessed in the camp for hours in the evening following fierce clashes, on Monday, between the “Fatah” movement on the one hand and the “Muslim Youth” and “Jund al-Sham” groups on the other hand for the fourth day in a row.

The calm that was disturbed by the shooting in Hattin came after the announcement of a ceasefire agreement following the meeting held today, Monday, of the Palestinian factions in the General Directorate of Public Security, headed by the Acting Director General, Major General Elias Al-Bisari.

However, activists shared on social media a group of photos that were said to have been spotted inside a house in the Hattin neighborhood of Ain al-Hilweh camp during the ongoing clashes there.

The pictures showed the presence of an ISIS flag inside the house, as well as a large collection of ammunition.

Palestinian sources said that this house belonged to a person belonging to armed groups inside the camp, while his identity was not revealed.
