Never say never: always refractory to publicity, Tesla has hinted that it could soon launch communication campaigns.

Tesla isn’t just redefining the automobile. The brand has also reviewed all aspects and the ecosystem that has surrounded the automobile for ages. It was thus the first to really develop the online sale of its cars, or free itself from a compulsory maintenance plan, for example. But it has also been resistant to any form of publicity. A real pride for the manufacturer, which however reconsiders its strategy.

At a recent event, the brand’s boss, Elon Musk, said Tesla will try his hand at a bit and see how it goes. So this is surprising news from Tesla, which is entering the ranks, to the delight of investors, visibly enthusiastic about the idea.

Elon Musk to continue: “I just accepted, we don’t have a fully developed strategy yet”, after being asked about more details. Everything therefore remains to be defined within Tesla itself, which will start in an environment where other manufacturers have a considerable lead here. But we know that the brand will be able to innovate as it has been able to do in many other areas before.

It is not entirely certain that the American brand needs to develop its sales, assuming that there would be an obvious causal link (which is not always true). It still and always has its brand image and its community which takes care of the promotion for free for that. However, publicity seems to be becoming inevitable to continue to carve out a place in an increasingly competitive market, while Tesla’s lead over competitors in electric mobility is not as marked as in the past.
