Tessa Blanchard Set for MLW Debut at Saturday Night SuperFight

Former TNA World Champion Tessa Blanchard is officially scheduled to make her Major League Wrestling debut at Saturday Night SuperFight on November 7, streaming live on VEEPS from a sold-out Cicero Stadium in Chicago.

The announcement was revealed during the October 7 broadcast of CMLL Informa, clearing a path for Blanchard after an earlier attempt to join the promotion was abruptly halted.

Overcoming Earlier Diplomatic Friction

Blanchard and MLW management previously entered extensive negotiations following her departure from TNA Wrestling, where she was released while time still remained on her contract. MLW initially slated her debut for September, releasing “Coming Soon” video vignettes and discussing a sustained run within the women’s featherweight division rather than a single appearance.

Yet, right before the show, her identity was abruptly dropped from all promotional advertisements and schedules without any immediate public explanation. Subsequent accounts indicated that the last-minute alteration stemmed from political tensions tied to her position with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), where she performs as a prominent global star under the moniker La Gringa Más Mexicana. Concerns had arisen regarding how her involvement with MLW was being presented alongside her commitments in Mexico with CMLL.

The Road to Cicero Stadium

With diplomatic hurdles cleared between the promotional partners, the door reopened during the October 7 episode of CMLL Informa. Blanchard addressed her upcoming appearance by stating, Heavy is the crown, but legacy isn’t handed to you… it’s forged under pressure, and added, I’ve earned my place as one of the best in the world at what I do, but I’m not coming to MLW to rest on the Blanchard name. MLW is bringing some of the purest, hardest-hitting action in the sport today, and the Undeniable Diamond belongs right at the top of it.

Unresolved Questions Ahead of Nov. 7

While the sold-out Chicago event is set to stream exclusively on VEEPS, key details regarding the matchup remain unconfirmed. Blanchard’s opponent for the signature pay-per-view will be announced in the days ahead.
