What’s changing on this 2023 MacBook Air
The first improvement brought by this MacBook Air M2 is the size of its screen which is now 15.3 inches which provides an immediate gain in comfort of use without sacrificing its ultraportable side. On the other hand, we can be disappointed that this screen has still not separated from its notch and that it still uses the LCD. Despite excellent display quality with its high resolution, it is not worth the brilliance of a mini-LED or OLED screen.
In the new features program, we also have a better battery to compensate for the display of a 15.6-inch screen and which reaches an autonomy of 14 hours 30. The M2 chip is also slightly better on this version but Apple has especially here reviewed the speakers. There are a total of six, four under the screen and one on each side of the keyboard. The sound quality is so good that it is pleasant to listen to music or a series without having to plug in the headphones.
A MacBook still and always impeccable
Once again, Apple offers us an ultrabook with excellent finishes, robust, ultraportable but also with performance that does honor to the Apple brand. With its Apple M2 chip, the MacBook Air 15 does not shy away from the task, even when it requires more complex calculations such as for 4K editing, for photo editing or launching software that is heavier than the others. However, this ultrabook, despite its power, is still not cut out for gaming.
If the Apple MacBook Air 15 M2 looks good in all respects and is suitable for almost all tasks, it is not without its faults and some may cringe over an ultrabook costing more than 1,500 euros. We have already mentioned the “only LCD” screen and the persistent presence of the notch. Let’s also add poor connectivity for a 15-inch laptop, we only have two USB-C ports and a 3.5 mm jack port. Finally, this MacBook is compatible with Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6, but it skips Wi-Fi 6E.
