The 2nd personality in Algeria surfs on the presence of the Polisario

The 2nd personality in Algeria, Salah Goudjil who chairs the Upper House of Parliament commented, in turn, the controversial participation of the leader of the Polisario, Brahim Ghali, in the 8th TICAD summit, organized on August 27 and 28 in Tunisia.

“Morocco had nevertheless taken part in a good number of meetings in the past in the same way as the Sahrawis”, he indicated in a speech delivered on Sunday on the occasion of the opening of the parliamentary year. And to continue by pointing out “the contradictions displayed by Morocco in its decision-making”, report local media.

The reaction of Goudjil, 91, is the first from a senior Algerian official who can constitutionally claim to lead the country in the event of a power vacuum. Before the remarks of the President of the Upper House of Parliament, Algeria’s envoy for Western Sahara, Amar Belani et the APS press agency defended the “legality” of Brahim Ghali’s presence at the last TICAD summit.

This exit from Goudjil comes three days after his speech at the Summit of African Parliaments, organized Thursday in South Africa, read on its behalf by its vice-president. He called for “putting an end to decolonization” in Africa, and this “by granting the Saharawi people the right to self-determination, in accordance with international resolutions”.
