The 6th Guangzhou Awards is now accepting nominations.

Guangzhou, China (ots/PRNewswire) On February 23, the opening ceremony of the 6th Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (Guangzhou Award) was held in Barcelona, ​​Spain during the United Cities and Local Governments 2023 Convention and Campus (UCLG )) instead of. At the meeting, UCLG, Metropolis (global network of metropolitan cities and metropolitan areas) and the city of Guangzhou jointly announced the call for entries for the 6th Guangzhou Award. Recognizing the achievements and contributions of Guangzhou in actively promoting international exchanges and cooperation between cities and the innovative development of global cities, Ms. Emilia Saiz and Mr. Jordi Vaquer expressed their full support for the development of the Guangzhou Award.

Co-sponsored by the city of Guangzhou and the organizations UCLG and Metropolis, the Guangzhou Award aims to recognize innovation in improving social, economic and environmental sustainability and good urban stewardship in cities and regions, thereby promoting the prosperity and quality of life of their Citizens. So far, five cycles have been carried out, involving more than 1,300 initiatives worldwide. The event has grown into a global platform for city-to-city learning and the documentation, dissemination and analysis of local implementation of global agendas, including SDGs and the New Urban Agenda (NUA).
