Due to the increase in murders so far this year in Eastern Antioquia, the attorney launched a Preventive Action with the aim of consulting each of the municipalities as to the situation in each sector of this area of the department.
So far this year in the municipalities of this subregion there have been 146 murders13 more than in 2021, when 133 were reported in the same period, so the Attorney General’s Office made the decision to make this call to each of the mayors.
Rosana Payaresa member of the Attorney General’s Office, notified this medium that they hope that this Monday there will be a response from the municipal administrations, with the aim of proposing solutions that help restore public order.
According to information provided by this entity, the municipalities of the East in which the most murders have been reported in 2022 are Rionegro and Sonsonwhere 24 and 22 cases have been reported, respectively.
For their part, the least affected municipalities are Alexandria, where no case has been reported, while in San Carlos, Nariño and Guatapé one murder has been recorded.
