The big crowd for the Tête de moine

The organizers indicate this Sunday, May 1st to have benefited from ideal weather conditions. They qualify this edition as successful, “like the masterful hay statues made for the occasion and the magnificent scene of raw milk with the children sculpted by Jean-Pierre Froidevaux on a six-meter scale”.

The Vacherin Friborg AOP sector was the guest of honour. The event coincided with the 40th anniversary of the chanterelle, the instrument invented to cleanly scrape this unique cheese.

On Saturday and Sunday, visitors were able to attend the production of Tête de moine and Vacherin from Friborg or take on the role of judge during the evaluation of different Tête de moine from regional producers.

Bellelay Abbey hosted the international competition for the best cheese platter.
