The Spanish airline Binter inaugurated, on Saturday, its new airline linking the cities of Gran Canaria and Fez, which will be provided every Saturday. In almost 2 hours and 20 minutes of flight, the aircraft, an NT6428 aircraft, landed at Fez-Saiss airport around 3 p.m. (local time) from the Spanish airport of Gran Canaria, with 69 passengers on board, the majority of whom are Moroccans established in Spain.

In a statement to the press, many Moroccan passengers expressed their satisfaction at being able to return to the motherland through this new airline linking the two Moroccan and Spanish regions. The new airline between Gran Canaria and Fez ensures the flight in less than three hours, they noted, adding that previously the conditions of travel from Casablanca airport were a little more tiring for people traveling to the North from Morocco or the East.

For his part, the director of Fez-Sais airport, Mostapha El Khoudri highlighted the importance of this airline which connects the Fez-Meknes region to major world destinations, recalling that since the resumption of activity in Within airport platforms at the end of last June, the traveler recovery rate was 90% compared to the same period in 2019.

Fez-Saïss airport has registered some 490,000 passengers so far, he said, pointing out that new airlines have announced the strengthening of their connections to and from this airport platform.

As part of the strategic partnership between the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and Binter, the airline has increased its capacity to Morocco for the summer of 2022 with more than 34,000 seats. This summer, Binter will connect the Canary Islands to ten destinations in Africa: Fez, Marrakech, Agadir, Guelmim, Laâyoune, Dakhla, Nouakchott, Dakar, Banjul and Sal.

This ceremony of the inaugural Gran Canaria-Fez flight took place in the presence in particular of the wali of the Fez-Meknes Region, governor of the prefecture of Fez, Saïd Zniber, elected officials, economic operators and professionals from the tourism sector.
