The new green space was inaugurated by Governor Juan Schiaretti. Bustos Park is located in the northwest of the city of Córdoba. It has about 10 hectares and can be visited from this Sunday.
Together with the Kempes and Chateau parks, Córdoba has 105 hectares of parks.
In a strategic place on the property there is a statue in honor of Brigadier General Juan Bautista Bustos, the first constitutional governor of Córdoba.
The new attraction is located in front of the Kempes Park and the Chateau Park, adding a total of 105 hectares of green space for the enjoyment of Cordovan families and visitors to Córdoba, an area similar to that of Sarmiento Park, at the extreme opposite of the city.
“We are going to join the Bustos Park with the Kempes Park through a walkway, to achieve greater integration,” Schiaretti announced in front of the monument in honor of the first governor of Córdoba, highlighting his figure and his progressive and federal spirit. Among the attractions of the park, the Bustos Garden stands out, which has 70,000 plants of more than 350 different species, forming a natural tapestry without precedent in the region. More than 30% of the species are native.
Governor Juan Schiaretti was accompanied by Martín Llaryora. The mayor stressed that “it is a quality space, which is at the level of world standards that residents from tomorrow will be able to enjoy as they already do with the squares, Las Heras park and Sarmiento.” The governor was accompanied by the senator Alejandra Vigo, the vice mayor of the city of Córdoba, Daniel Passerini, the president of the Córdoba Tourism Agency, Alejandro Lastra, and members of the provincial and municipal cabinets.
Access, parking and hours
Bustos Park has a perimeter fence complete with bars, open with wide gates for vehicular and pedestrian passage. For the night, a lighting system was designed that includes more than 400 luminaires, highlighting both the pedestrian routes and the main specimens of native species that are distributed in the forest, meadow and ravine areas.
