The CDMX analyzes applying Dry Law during exercise of revocation of mandate

At a press conference, the head of government Claudia Sheinbaum reported that although, in eight neighborhoods of Iztapalapa there will be dry law from April 10 due to the representation of “Palm Sunday” within the framework of the religious festivities of the demarcation , it is still being evaluated whether the ban on the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages extends to the entire capital.

“We are going to assess it and we will inform you. On other occasions it has been applied, on others it has not; We are going to analyze it to see the decision we make, ”she said.

It will be the decision of each mayor’s office to make known whether the Dry Law is applied in a general or partial way, that is, that alcoholic beverages can only be sold in restaurants and hotels by the glass.

Sheinbaum said that in the next few days he will meet with members of his cabinet to assess the need for the ban to be applied on Sunday, April 10, as occurs in a regular election called by local and federal electoral authorities.
