During the launch of Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X, the Chinese manufacturer had not unveiled any “Lite” model, unlike in previous years. It looks like Xiaomi has decided to wait a bit longer before unveiling a more affordable model, but the latter would now be ready to be unveiled within the next few weeks.

Before its official launch, the leaker @heyitsyogesh revealed on Twitter the entire technical sheet of the smartphone, at least a summary of all previous leaks. First of all, we know that the Xiaomi 12 Lite will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, the smartphone having already been spotted on the Geekbench benchmark with this chip. However, it would not be the most interesting aspect of the smartphone, since we already found this chip in the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE of 2021.

The screen of the Xiaomi 12 Lite goes to 120 Hz

As Yogesh Brar reveals, it is expected that 6.55-inch FHD+ display of the Xiaomi 12 Lite finally adopts a refresh rate of 120 Hz. As a reminder, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite had to settle for a frequency of 90 Hz. To power all this, the smartphone would rely on a battery of 4500 mAh compatible with 67 W fast charging.

On the back of the Xiaomi 12 Lite, we would find a configuration with three cameras with a 64 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra wide-angle sensor as well as a 5 MP macro sensor. The selfie part would be managed by a 16 MP sensor.

Finally, we learn that the smartphone will use a fingerprint sensor under the screen, the Hi-Res Audio codec, but above all that it will be delivered under Android 12 with the MIUI 13 overlay. The Xiaomi 12 Lite would therefore better than the Xiaomi 12Xyet more expensive, which only works on Android 11. Like the previous model, the Xiaomi 12 Lite should above all bet on a very thin and very light design, enough to appeal to customers looking for a discreet smartphone.
