“The conflict of fraternal nations is horrifying, but the exclusion of Russian athletes is an unfair decision,” says Daniil Kvyat – Auto

Daniil Kvyat opposed the exclusion of Russian athletes from the competition.

The ex-Formula 1 driver also commented on the situation in Ukraine.

“I really hope for a peaceful solution to the situation in Ukraine and that we can all live in peace! I hope and believe that all parties in the shortest possible time will be able to find a solution at the negotiating table, through a respectful dialogue.

It horrifies me to see the conflict between two fraternal nations. I do not want armed conflicts and wars to affect the future of mankind. I want my daughter and all children to enjoy this wonderful World.

I also want to emphasize and appeal to all sports federations and the IOC: sport must remain outside of politics, and not allowing Russian athletes and teams to participate in world competitions is an unfair decision and goes against what sport teaches us in its principle – respect, unity and the world. Who else but we, the athletes, will help unite the nations in the coming times,” Kvyat wrote.

The Russian pilot plans to compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2022. The participation of riders from Russia in international competitions is currently in question.

Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special operation in Ukraine. At the request of Roskomnadzor, the media broadcast the official wording of the Russian Federation.

We were left almost without all international competitions. A very long – and growing – list
