The country is ashamed in front of the world, the opposition against the communal forces – CM

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan criticized the controversial remark made by the BJP spokesperson against the Prophet Muhammad. In a statement, the Chief Minister said that the Sangh Parivar forces have brought our country, which is respected by all as a secular democracy, to a state of disgrace in the eyes of the world. The Chief Minister pointed out that the latest chapter in this was the racist remarks made by BJP spokespersons against the Prophet.

The Hindutva communal politics that is marginalizing the Muslim community is destroying not only the social security of the country but also the economic stability. This is in addition to the difficulties created by their inverted economic policies. Many Islamic countries, which employ millions of Indians and make crucial contributions to our economy and development, have become vocal in their opposition to the politics of hatred of the BJP and the Sangh Parivar. These are all countries that have very friendly relations with India, the Chief Minister’s statement said.

The Constitution does not give anyone the right to insult or deny the beliefs and culture of another religion. The Central Government should take steps to curb the vicious attempts to endanger the great secular heritage of our country and to punish the hate propagandists. In addition, he demanded in the statement that there should be a united opposition from the general public against the communal forces.
